About Time - It's the Gift

Time expands, then contracts,

and in tune with the stirrings of the heart.

~ Haruki Murakami

What if we looked upon each moment through our day as a unique gift? For each moment, just as each snowflake, is unique and can never be duplicated. When I take the time to reflect on this, it feels like an incredible way to flow through life.

I am reminded of a wonderful movie I watched that speaks to this very idea:

"About Time." It's a story about a young man who learns that he has the uncanny ability to go back into his past and alter undesirable outcomes until his heart feels content. For most of us, this sounds like a dream, but as this young man learns, the gift is so much more than just a means to correct a mistake.

It’s a movie that embraces such heart in daily living; can make you laugh and cry, yet helps to focus on what’s really important in life; and living in the present. As he matures, he understands that there is no need to travel back in time; simply live your best life with all you can savor in the present moment.

I notice when I’m in a present place of being, that everything I touch feels fulfilling. I pay attention to those I love, my friends and those I create with on a deeper level and I believe this has a ripple effect which goes out into the world in wonderful ways.

“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now.

Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.

Think how really precious is the time you have to spend,

whether it’s at work or with your family.

Enjoy and savor every moment."

~Earl Nightingale
